What is Nextdoor Nature?

Imagine a green space in your neighbourhood to sit and listen to birds, or enjoy colourful wildflowers, humming with bees and butterflies. Picture sharing locally-grown food in a community garden, or doing some fun nature activities with neighbours or family.

Experiencing nature on our doorsteps is good for our physical and mental health and helps us better connect with each other.

Nextdoor Nature is bringing communities together to help nature flourish where they live and work! Thanks to £5 million funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Nextdoor Nature will provide people with the advice and support they need to help nature on their doorstep.

These mini-projects across the UK will leave a lasting natural legacy to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Would your community like to make space for nature and people, or start a project to connect better with nature and each other?

Nextdoor Nature supports Hastings communities who want to take action for nature where they live or work. Mainly in specific neighbourhoods in Tressell and Baird (Broomgrove), Hollington, Wishing Tree, Central St Leonards and Gensing, and Castle (central Hastings) wards.
