A small but characterful Oak woodland surviving within an area of modern housing

Gillham Wood is a small oasis of woodland in Cooden, just west of Bexhill, a remnant of a once larger wooded area. Today, it is a valuable commun­ity asset within a residential area, much loved by locals for informal recreation and dog walking.

Gillham Wood Nature Reserve is free to visit, but we are only able to care for Gillham Wood with the support we receive from our members. Please consider becoming a member today.
