Weekly Wellbeing Walk (07/01/2026) - Rye Harbour Wednesday, 7th January 2026 9:45 AM - 11:30 AM

Enjoy the outdoors with a morning of gentle walking across Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with our walk leader volunteers, every Wednesday morning. Anyone can join in and there's no need to book.

The walks end at approximately 11.30am, usually at the Discovery Centre to give the option for refreshments.

These weekly walks are free, short and friendly, suitable for all abilities, and aim to be beneficial for both physical and mental wellbeing. They're an opportunity to meet new people, and they'll give you a taste of our coastal wildlife throughout the seasons, as our volunteer walk leaders share their knowledge of the birds and the terrain.

Location: Meet at the shelter next to the public toilets in Rye Harbour village, TN31 7TT opposite the bus turning circle on the corner and not far from the bus stop. Ideal for coming by bus.

Public Transport: The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Rye train station to Rye Harbour village.

Accessibility: There is usually a choice of two walks, including a gently-paced 2 mile (3 km) walk on relatively level ground. Most of the route is easy for wheelchairs, and the bird hides are accessible. However a section of the walk has some uneven and loose surfaces, making it moderately difficult for manual wheelchairs.
The Discovery Centre is a wheelchair-friendly venue, with a step-free entrance ramp, toilet facilities include two that are wheelchair accessible. The public toilets in the village have a disabled toilet which can be accessed with a radar key.

What to bring: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear and sun protection for the weather conditions. You may wish to bring a water bottle.
