We're delighted to invite Sussex-based wildlife photographer, Rachel Bigsby, back to Rye Harbour Discovery Centre. Join her for this talk as she guides you through her creative and philosophical approach to capturing natural artistry, followed by a question and answer session. She'll invite you to move beyond the technical and into the expressive with a compelling blend of creative insight and practical experience. 

Representing young, female, self-taught photographers, Rachel is best known for her fine art work with seabirds. She is the winner of the 'Natural Artistry' category in the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year as well as the Portfolio Award in Bird Photographer of the Year. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions such as The Royal Geographical Society and The National Museum of Scotland.

Rachel is an RSPB Ambassador, a photography expedition guide and a Nikon Creator. Her images have been published in the pages of National Geographic, WWF, and New Scientist. She has featured on TV programmes such as Springwatch and The One Show, and worked on David Attenborough's Wild Isles. See her website.

Location: Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour, TN31 7FW, see our website for how to find us. The Centre sits within the nature reserve and houses a gift shop, public toilets and café open from 9.30am to 4.15pm, serving refreshments and light lunches.

Public Transport: The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Rye train station to Rye Harbour village.

Parking: The main Car Park at Harbour Road, Rye Harbour, TN31 7TT, run by Icklesham Parish Council, is about a 7 minute walk from the Discovery Centre. There is no ticket machine, but donations are welcomed in the box or via the QR code.

Accessibility: Rye Harbour Discovery Centre is a wheelchair-friendly venue, with a step-free entrance ramp and two wheelchair accessible toilets.

Dogs: Please note that although we welcome well-behaved dogs to the café, they are not generally permitted on our events (except assistance dogs).
