Family Activity: Wild about Winter Birds - Rye Harbour (21/02/25) Friday, 21st February 2025 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Course Tutor: Aimi Rifat – Wilder Learning and communities Officer, Rye Harbour Discovery Centre

Session time and overview : 1-3pm we will take a walk with the binoculars to Gooder’s Hide to learn how birds on the reserve survive through the Winter, observe and identify birds at the reserve and then back in the classroom learn how to dry needle felt or hand embroider a bird.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years, who can be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location: Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour, TN31 7FW

Public transport: How to find us | Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Northiam to Rye train station and on to Rye Harbour village.

What to bring/wear: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear, and sun protection, for the weather conditions. Price doesn’t include refreshments, so bring a drink & snack, or Lime Kiln café at the Centre will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm for refreshments and lunch.

Accessibility: We will use accessible paths on the reserve and into the education room. Our toilet facilities will be available, if needed, at the beginning and end of your session.
