Willow Weaving Workshop: Make Your Own Plant Support - Rye Harbour (21/04/24) Sunday, 21st April 2024 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

On this one day workshop you will learn how to craft your own woven plant supports - ideal for growing sweet peas, beans or other climbing plants. Experienced willow weaver Julie Gurr will teach you how to make one small and one large woven support using sustainably sourced, locally grown willow. You will be able to take your plant supports away with you at the end of the day. The ticket price includes materials as well as lunch and refreshments. Tools will be provided.

Julie Gurr has more than 20 years of experience as a basket weaver and is inspired by basketry techniques from different cultures as well as the natural environment and the materials it provides. Julie is based in East Sussex and grows the willow she uses near her home in Iden. www.willowweaver.com
