Both Grey Seals and Common Seals can be seen here in Sussex. Common Seals sometimes swim up the county's rivers where they take hikers by surprise but one of the best places to look for them is on their breeding grounds in Chichester Harbour.

John Arnott is a volunteer with Chichester Harbour Conservancy and since 2010 John has led harbour walks and boat trips, given talks and training and undertaken annual seal surveys.

In tonight's talk we'll learn how to tell the difference between a Grey Seal and a Common Seal and find out about the seal's year. John will also tell us the results of the seal monitoring being undertaken in Chichester Harbour and the pressures and threats these incredible marine mammals face.

The talk will last for approximately 45 minutes and there will be a short Q&A session at the end.
