The Wilderness Wander 2020: an immersive nature walk for all the family

Join Sussex Wildlife Trust for their first charity fundraising walk The Wilderness Wander on 26th September 2020. Taking place in the outstanding landscape of the Cuckmere Haven you will get to immerse yourself in the nature that surrounds you.

It is not about the distance you walk, or the hills you climb, but a chance to stop and wonder at the natural beauty around you, and learn about the wildlife you see. On all routes you will get the opportunity to take part in activities such as scavenger hunts, beach combing, and bug hunts.

This family friendly event is your chance to make a real impact to help protect wildlife and nature in Sussex, whilst learning about the wildlife around you.

Sussex Wildlife Trust and Pied A Terre Adventures priority is to look after our supporters at this time, with the primary focus being your health and safety throughout.  We are continually monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure you can take part in this walk in the safest way possible.

If the UK Government advises against the walk, Sussex Wildlife and Pied A Terre Adventures will always get in touch and advise you of the options available to you.

Given the increased risk of disruption at this time, it is advisable to ensure that you have adequate protection to properly cover you for disruption to travel plans and accommodation.

You can rest assured that your registration fee will be refunded should the event need to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation.

  • The Family Wander (5k)

Wander along the Cuckmere Valley with your family stopping to take part in engaging nature activities with Sussex Wildlife Trust staff

Entry fee:

£40 for a family of 4

£20 Adult

£7 Children (under 16)

Your registration fee covers the cost of participating in the event, all we ask is you raise as much sponsorship money as you can, or make a donation, so we can create a Wilder Sussex for the next generation.

  • The Explorer Wander (14K)

This fully guided walk will take you through the many habitats of the South Downs National Park learning about chalkland plants, birds, butterflies, and trees in this wonderful landscape.

Entry fee:

£40 for a family of 4

£20 Adult

£7 Children (under 16)

Your registration fee covers the cost of participating in the event, all we ask is you raise as much sponsorship money as you can, or make a donation, so we can create a Wilder Sussex for the next generation.

  • The Adventure Wander (35k)

A challenging guided walk taking in some of the most spectacular views in Sussex. This trek will take you though they many habitats of the South Downs National Park and the spectacular Seaford Head Nature Reserve.

Entry fee:

£30 per person

£25 per person for team of 5 or more

Your registration fee covers the cost of participating in the event only. To help us create a Wilder Sussex for the next generation we ask everyone taking part to raise a minimum of £200.
