Filsham Reedbed Wildlife Walk (23/04/19) Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 10:00 AM -

Filsham Reedbed (SSSI) lies between Bexhill and Hastings and has been managed by Sussex Wildlife Trust since the 1970's. Its reed beds and wetland are a vitally important habitat, supporting countless birds, over a thousand invertebrate species and a great diversity of plants. The reserve comprises flower rich margins, reed-fen and numerous areas of scrub, and lies on an important migration route. This makes it a great site for breeding warblers, bearded tit, bittern, cuckoo and marsh harrier, to name just a few. Join us for a circular walk of approximately 4km, exploring the reserve to learn about the huge variety of wildlife found there in spring.

Access to Filsham Reedbed is via the footpath which runs alongside the Combe Haven river, from the Bulverhythe recreation ground just off the A259 in St. Leonards.
