Second Saturday each month: 11 March, 8 April, 13 May, 10 June and 8 July 2017 (5 sessions) – with Paula - Afternoons

Wildlife Watch is for 5-8 year olds with accompanying adults

Bring your children along to help them explore the natural world. This will involve getting to know the forest school site, woodland and bushcraft activities!

Wildlife Watch clubs are based on Forest School principles, providing a wonderful opportunity for children aged 5-8 to experience and learn from nature. They will be encouraged to tackle hands-on outdoor activities, work co-operatively with others, and have an opportunity to gain a sense of achievement while developing social skills and boosting confidence. Sessions are themed around the changing seasons and discovering how to help local wildlife thrive.

Meet on the grass by the church opposite Stanmer House. Stanmer Park is located near Falmer, to the north of Brighton, next to the University of Sussex. If you are using sat nav, the best post code is BN1 9QA, which is Stanmer House, within sight of our meeting start point.

There is a free public car park near the Church next to the farm yard.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

Bus No 78 to Stanmer Village which is a 20-25 min walk to the site heading north past the tearoom and toilets, continue to end of residential road and turn left up a sloping tarmac private road to Upper Lodges Car Park.

Wheel chair access at this site is very limited. Some paths are accessible but the woodland site has obstacles such as tree stumps and soft ground.

Nearest toilets are in Stanmer Village about a 20 min walk away.

Free parking at Upper Lodges car park.

GUIDELINES FOR YOUNGER SIBLINGS

The activities are tailored to children over 5 years old, so are not suitable for younger siblings. We would recommend our Nature Tots groups for 3-5 year olds instead.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and walking boots/wellingtons. Drink, snack and mud provided.

Not suitable for wheelchairs or those with compromised mobility.

Sorry no dogs allowed on the reserve.
