Nature Tots is for 3 – 5 year olds with accompanying adults

Bring your little ones along to help them explore the natural world. This will involve getting to know the forest school site and the fire circle, woodcraft activities, stories, games and lots more!

Each week will have a different theme based in a special forest school site. Children will learn to become confident in an outdoor setting, learn basic woodcraft skills and explore their natural surroundings with storytelling, games and lots of outdoor activities. It’ll provide a great opportunity for you and your little ones to have fun in the natural environment and will aim to encourage an early interest in wildlife. Drink, snack and plenty of mud provided!

Meet at Stanmer Park Upper Lodges Car Park off Ditchling Road north of A27/Coldean lane. Meeting point is by the Stanmer Estate Notice Board. We will leave the meeting point promptly at 10:00am.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

Bus No 78 to Stanmer Village stops at 10:08, which is a 20-25 min walk to the site heading north past the tearoom and toilets, continue to end of residential road and turn left up a sloping tarmac private road to Upper Lodges Car Park.

Wheel chair access at this site is very limited. Some paths are accessible but the woodland site has obstacles such as tree stumps and soft ground.

Nearest toilets are in Stanmer Village about a 20 min walk away.

Free parking at Upper Lodges car park.

NATURE TOTS GUIDELINES FOR YOUNGER SIBLINGS

Please state on booking if you are bringing a younger sibling aged two and under to enjoy the stories and games free of charge.

If you are bringing a younger sibling aged two along with an older Nature Tot and you wish them to also take part in the woodcraft activities, please ensure you book and pay for the additional place.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear outdoor clothing and walking boots/wellingtons.

We apologise that this location has extremely limited wheelchair access.
