Shingle, Birds and Flowers (25/05/16) - Members Only Event Wednesday, 25th May 2016 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Join Reserve Manager, Barry Yates, at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve looks its best at the end of May. The shingle flowers will be appearing and the Sea Kale should provide a memorable spectacle. We also hope to find Sea Pea in flower, but the very rare Least Lettuce will just be its distinctive leaves. The breeding seabirds, waders and wildfowl should all be busy nesting and we will get close views from the four birdwatching hides. Please let us know if you need to borrow binoculars. Refreshments will be served in one of the hides.

Even if it is a lovely sunny day when you leave home please bring something windproof and an extra layer as the sea breeze can make it considerably cooler here.
