Sussex Bird Safari - Iping Common & West Dean Woods (29/04/16) Friday, 29th April 2016 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

A chance to look at two differing habitats in the west of the county. Iping and Stedham Commons are both prime heathland sites and are home to specialist heathland species such as tree pipit, stonechat and the elusive Dartford warbler. It is also a good time to encounter reptiles.

A 30-minute car journey will take us to West Dean Woods to find a good range of woodland species and is also now one of the best places to see firecrest in Sussex. We will look for the elusive little owl and it is also a good area and time for raptor spotting.

No previous knowledge or skills required, just enthusiasm!

Meet at Iping Common car park; 2 miles west of Midhurst. The car park is in Elsted Road just off the A272, on the left as you come from Midhurst. The entrance is about 200 yards down Elsted Road on your right. Nearest Post code GU29 OPB.
