Wildlife Walks, Talks and Courses in October 2019

About a third of the way through September the temperature dropped I could really feel that change from summer into autumn beginning. I even packed away my shorts for the year. But then, by mid-month it felt like we were heading back into summer again. It was a great chance to get out into the countryside and make the most of warm weather. There were plenty of birds moving through the county, heading to someplace warmer. Meanwhile butterflies are still migrating into Sussex and there are plenty of dragonflies on the wing around the county’s wetlands.

A lot of our upcoming October events are fully booked but there are spaces left on the following events. Look for further details on the website.  

We are also coming to the end of our adult education programme but there are still places on the following courses in the autumn and winter.  There are a few places still left on Martin Allison’s Fungi course on 2 October a great opportunity to learn about fungi and identify them on a visit to a Sussex woodland.  David Plummer will also be delivering another Field Craft and Animal Tracking course on 3 November after this popular course sold out in the spring.
