Wildlife Walks, Talks and Courses in August 2019

Last August the South Downs looked more like the Serengeti. The long hot summer and lack of rain turned the lush green hills to a rather over-baked brown.  The few days of rainfall that were scattered throughout this July should hopefully prevent Sussex from turning too crispy this year.  That rain may have interrupted a few barbecue plans but was no doubt a welcome relief to our plants and the animal’s that feed on them.

We’ve organised another packed programme of events throughout August which will give you the chance to get out, experience and learn more about the wildlife of your county. Whether its birds, butterflies, bats, moths, owls or plant seeds there’s something for you this month. Come along and join us in August.

On top of all these events Sussex Wildlife Trust are running their busy programme of wildlife courses throughout the month giving you a chance to learn more about some of the county’s amazing wildlife, how to observe and record it and how to get involved in a bit of hands-on scything.
