Over the last two years our Seaford Community Wildlife Project has worked with schools, young people, community groups and volunteers to explore Seaford Head Nature Reserve and the local area and the amazing wildlife. 

Thank you so much to everyone that supported and got involved with this project. With local help and support we were able to achieve so much and share some wonderful wildlife experiences with the Seaford community.

Some of the highlights included:

  • Working with Seaford schools to deliver sessions and train teachers on their school grounds, on local beaches and at Seaford Head Nature Reserve.
  • Helping to plant over 100 trees, hedges and wildflowers for wildlife
  • Finding 55 species in one rockpooling session including a jellyfish, crabs, fish and anemones
  • People hearing and seeing bats for the first time on our bat detector walks
  • Volunteers & contractors doing habitat management and installing new signs at Seaford Head Nature Reserve
  • Celebrating 50 years of Seaford Head Local Nature Reserve
  • Working with & training lots of wonderful volunteers
