The Findon Downs are rich in ancient history, but Sussex Wildlife Trust is focused on shaping the future of a remarkable area above Findon known as Tenants Hill, which is currently owned by Worthing Borough Council. 

This 150-acre site, offering some of the most breathtaking views in Sussex, spans the ridge that stretches southeast from the National Trust’s land at Cissbury Ring.

The Trust hopes to become the future custodian of the site, dedicating it to nature recovery and enhancing its value for wildlife and people alike. Tenants Hill is publicly accessible - and Sussex Wildlife Trust is committed to keeping it that way. 

Tenants Hill forms a vital part of the wider and much-loved Cissbury landscape, which holds enormous potential for biodiversity and ecological restoration. Sussex Wildlife Trust envisions a future where this landscape thrives, supporting wildlife and offering a peaceful, natural space for the community.

Worthing Borough Council are hosting a public engagement event at Findon Valley Free Church on Monday 15 September from 6:30pm to 8pm, when residents can find out more about the proposals and ask any questions they may have.
