Local businesses invited to a 'wild work day'

A Wild Work Day gives teams the chance to take part in important conservation work that supports local wildlife and the community. Sussex Wildlife Trust provides a few different options. 

It could be conservation day on one our reserves, with activities such as coppicing, tree planting, bramble cutting and scrub clearance. Physical conservation work is the main part of the day, but you learn about the habitat and the wildlife that lives there as you go. 

A digital detox is a popular option, helping staff to get away from screens and day-to-day workloads and connect in nature instead. Staff can make fires, learn to work with tools or get stuck into woodworking activities. 

Other teams step into the rhythm of the tides on a wild day at the beach at Rye Harbour - protecting local marine wildlife by taking part in a beach clean, sorting recyclables and monitoring the kinds of litter washing up to build our understanding of pollution.

Who are Wild Work Days for?

Groups of between six and twenty colleagues from local Sussex companies who want to make a positive impact on the environment and their local community
