Let's Make Every Child Wild

Across the county Sussex Wildlife Trust are offering a fantastic chance for young people (12-16 years) to get involved with an exciting project to help wildlife, learn new skills and have fun. Wildlife Ranger groups meet regularly in Brighton, Crawley and at Seven Sisters country park to explore nature and take part in activities such as , wild flower and tree planting, tracking, rock pooling, looking for reptiles, bat walks, pond dipping all mixed in with a bit of bush craft and campfire cookery.

The groups offer the chance to learn and enjoy the natural world around us whilst having fun and making friends. If you like being outdoors and love wildlife, then this is the group for you. You don’t need to be an expert or have any previous skills the point is to enjoy the wonders of nature that Sussex can offer whilst enjoying the odd marshmallow and hot chocolate.

Many of those who started getting involved with Wildlife Rangers have now moved on to our Youth Ranger (16-25 years) programme and are developing their interest and knowledge further, having experiences that will stay with them for many years to come.

The next sessions will be the Christmas bash at Seven Sisters Country Park on 12 December and Stanmer Park in Brighton on 22 December where we’ll be making festive wreaths, fire lighting, whittling and cooking.
