On April 1st 2018 we launched the ‘Woods Mill 50’ project to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of Woods Mill as a nature reserve in 1968. It’s been a great year and the project, generously funded by ScottishPower Foundation, has allowed us to make many improvements to Woods Mill for wildlife and visitors. 

Over the 12 months of the project we ran over 120 public events to engage, educate and inspire visitors to Woods Mill both old and young. Many of you who have attended these events would have been guided around the reserve by our Woods Mill project officer James Duncan. A lot of people have commented on James’ enthusiasm and knowledge and how much they have enjoyed these events. We’ve been impressed with him too! – so we’re keeping him around for another year. 

James will still be leading more events at our Woods Mill headquarters as well as leading guided wildlife walks at our nature reserves across Sussex. 

This Saturday afternoon (March 30th) James will be leading his final guided walk in the role of ‘Woods Mill 50’ officer – so why not join James for a sunny, spring walk around Woods Mill (and maybe a slice of cake). More details of Saturday's walk can be found here:
