Brighton Youth Rangers - back in business

The Brighton Youth Ranger group is back up and running and keen to get stuck into conservation work in and around the city. The group is different from many volunteer groups in that it is specifically designed for 16 to 25 year olds. It offers young people an opportunity to get involved with practical conservation work such as wild flower planting, pond creation, coppicing and surveying. The chance to develop new skills and enjoy different experiences amongst your peer group is one of the joys of the group and allows young people the chance to learn whilst making an active contribution to improving local greenspaces for wildlife.

Whether it’s to complement a college course and improve chances of working in conservation or simply to enjoy socialising with a like-minded people, reasons for coming along vary. The common theme though is that the group’s work has a direct impact upon improving habitat and helps conserve the plants and creatures that call the city home.
