Students from Bourne Community College in Southbourne have completed some amazing artwork this year, with a particular focus on our environment and UK species at risk. During their art lessons, the students having been looking into the plight of some of our native British species and why numbers are potentially impacted. The students researched various animals, including grey whales, sharks, tree frogs and wolves, and the cause of their decline as inspiration for their artwork.

Their art teacher said

‘Our Year 8 students really enjoyed this project and came up with some amazingly creative outcomes, using artist Michael Craig-Martin as inspiration for composition. By creating these artworks, the hope is that they cause the viewer to question our involvement as a species in the plight of some of the amazing animals we share our country with.’
