Ashdown Forest Car Parking Charging Consultation

Sussex Wildlife Trust is aware of a public consultation on possible introduction of car parking charges across 47 car parks under the management of the Ashdown Forest Conservators. One of these 47 car parks serves Sussex Wildlife Trust Old Lodge Nature Reserve.

Old Lodge Car Park is owned and managed by the Ashdown Forest Conservators and is part of the above consultation process. Sussex Wildlife Trust have no direct involvement in the management or maintenance of this car park.

We would like to draw your attention to the consultation below, which is running until the 6 December 2021. This gives you the chance to read more about the initial proposals, and give feedback accordingly.

    I have known and loved this specific part of the forest since long before it became a nature reserve. Before the bridge was put over the stream and the ‘management’ of the area started to change the widness and before Gatwick and road noise ruined the quietness. Car parking charges and the manicuring inhibit me from wanting to spoil old memories. R.I.P. Asdown.
