Thank you so much to all of you for supporting Sussex Wildlife Trust this year.

Thanks to you, our members, supporters and volunteers, we are able to protect and restore nature, as well as inspire people with the beauty and importance of our natural world. Whilst acknowledging there is a lot still to do, we are pleased to be able to celebrate a few of the exceptional achievements of this year.

Some highlights:

The £500,000 project to restore and improve the Pevensey Levels has been completed, despite appalling autumn weather and the discovery of a nationally important Iron Age settlement. We can’t wait to see the wildlife response!

We welcomed a huge number of visitors to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where they were able to engage with the outstanding wildlife found there. With the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have also been making changes to improve accessibility on the reserve.

We are proud to play a leading role in the flagship Sussex Kelp Recovery Project. It is now three years since the trawling ban and this long-term marine rewilding and recovery programme is starting to reveal exciting results, with increases in the threatened Black Sea Bream and large new beds of Blue Mussels being discovered.

We were delighted with the large and enthusiastic Sussex attendance at two crucial marches in 2024 - Restore Nature Now in June and the March for Clean Water in November.


All of this and more has only been possible thanks to your support. Thank you.
